26.06.12 From the Archives #1 A practice I enjoy is reading ancient literature.

Today I wasn't in the mental space to pause, read, and reflect. So From the Archives was born.

Over the years, I've filled multiple journals with what I considered moments of pure genius. Sadly, many of those ideas became buried beneath the busyness of life.

The idea is simple.

Once a week I'll spend a few minutes flipping through an old journal, sharing a note that catches my attention, along with a few questions for us to ponder and walk out together.

So here we go...

Ancient Text

Genesis 1:-1-3

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters."

Reading this passage, I noticed that the God of the ancient text seems comfortable hovering over a space that is formless, empty, and dark.

As I observed life, I found that almost everything grows out of some form of chaos.

Perhaps chaos is the source of raw material from which meaning and substance emerge.

Observed Under the Sun

Seeds push down into darkness before rising toward the light.

Ants begin with scattered resources before building an anthill.

My own heart can drift into darkness, yet a change in perspective often becomes the first step back toward the light.

A Rule I Made on January 28, 2026

Chaos is allowed to exist, but it is not allowed to rule.

Food for Thought

Stand in front of a cluttered space.

Take a deep breath.

Imagine what a space of peace might look like.

Then choose one small area of chaos and move a single item to its proper home.

Notice what happens inside you.

Do you feel anything?

Thanks for reading.
